Your head smells like rain tonight.
As if we left you out for too long.
(“Which we would never do,”
My brain qualifies.
As if it needs to.)
I think of inky skies,
Grey clouds,
A light drizzle at the beach,
Sea spray flying high.
All of them are fine
But tonight I’ll hold you close,
Smell your rain-dusted hair
And feel your tiny snores
As ripples
In the air
